After a desperate effort to save a young mom and her baby from forced abortion, Terri Palmquist feared she would face charges of kidnapping and grand theft auto.

St. Patrick’s Day (March 17) was an abortion day at Bakersfield’s FPA abortion chamber, so vigil participants stood in various places along the sidewalk, each praying for an opportunity to make a final offer of life to any they might encounter planning a child’s death. Terri stood near the alley, focusing on putting up memorial crosses whenever she saw post-abortion women exiting with empty wombs.
The FPA parking lot was full, so when a car parked next to the crosses, Terri was not surprised to see a teenage girl in the passenger seat. Terri approached the car just as the girl (we’ll call her “Jennie”) was getting out. As the door opened, Terri smiled at Jennie and quietly said “Hi, my name is Terri; if you are dealing with an unplanned pregnancy, I’m here to help.” Terri thought that Jennie appeared to be about 17 years old.
