Inspiring videos from Closing Celebration
When a 10% chance of rain suddenly became a downpour, many people who had intended to attend the 40 Days for Life Closing Celebration apparently changed their plans. But those who persevered by attending the stormy event maintained a positive outlook regardless of the weather, especially when they had the opportunity to hear the beautiful testimony of a young woman whose baby was saved from abortion.
Musician Javier De Santiago traveled from Los Angeles to sing at the event. He presented his song Donde Estas Papa y Mama (which has saved many lives in conjunction with Eduardo Verastegui’s life-saving abortion video) in both English and Spanish to the appreciative crowd.
A new 40 Days for Life Bakersfield video entitled “Blessings” was also presented at the event, featuring videos of prayer vigil participants during the Fall 2011 40 Days for Life campaign.
The evening concluded with musician Lamar Hagan (who has been a part of all eight Bakersfield 40 Days for Life campaigns) leading the candlelight prayer vigil in prayer and song as participants marched around the abortion center seven times, reminiscent of the Israelites’ march around Jericho.
